Lakewood Civic Centre

When the Lakewood Civic Centre opened in October, 1988, the Lakeview Library relocated to the complex. The branch was officially opened on January 9, 1989, as the Lakewood Branch Library, and was renamed after former mayor, Cliff Wright, on March 30, 1989.

The Cliff Wright Branch is wheelchair accessible and has a bookdrop open 24 hours a day.

How to use this Location

Make a trip to SPL a part of your day.

Located in the Lakewood Civic Centre, which also houses a swimming pool, gymnasium, and cardio and weight rooms, Cliff Wright Branch is one of the busiest in the city! 

It's easy to see why: for over 25 years our spacious, sunny reading areas have been a great place to catch up with friends, wait for kids to finish swimming lessons, or pick up that Bestseller on hold. Our circular story room features a wood land mural and lots of fun activities, games and programs for all ages. Whether you are socializing, studying, or storytelling, Cliff Wright branch is a great place to get everything done. 

There is free parking available at the Cliff Wright branch. You can also get there by taking public transit:

Route 19 (Centre Mall)
Route 86 (Rosewood)
Route 50 (Lakeview)
and Route 55 (Lakeridge/University)
