Who are the Friends of the Saskatoon Public Library?

The Friends of the Saskatoon Public Library is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization dedicated to advocacy for the Library and fundraising for non-budgetary items.

The Society was formed in 1990 by a committee that included members of the Saskatoon Public Library Board and the Saskatoon Public Library Staff.

Since its inception, the Friends have organized book sales, garage sales, two Dinner Theatres, readings to seniors, special events, receptions, dance parties at "The Hat" and eight very successful Forkfests.

The Friends operate primarily from the Shop, located in the lower level of the Frances Morrison Library, selling donated and culled library materials.

If you would like more information on the Friends of the Library or are interested in volunteering some time with this worthy cause, please contact Christina McKay at 382-3254.
